Sorry, bit to access the lights in the speedo unit the tank has to come off. However it usually isn't a big deal. Loosen the knurled nut on the speedo drive cable and take it out, being careful not to loose the sealing o-ring. Might want to look at how the cable is fed through the cables. Need a 10mm socket and extension to get the seat off and remove the tank hold down on the rear. Remove the fuel line and vacuum line to the fuel tap, then grasp the tank (hopefully not full) and twist it up and to the left and slid it back off the front support donuts. It will not come all the way off until you disconnect the wiring harness to the speedo and then lift the tank and dangling speedo cable off the bike. Help might be a benefit here the first time to keep from scratching paint or dropping the tank when the fuel shifts. You can do it. Max
